Tip 1: Invest into a good camera
Invest into a good camera or use a phone which can take decent pictures. A lot of cameras have the smooth skin- or make up mode nowadays, you can use that to get a flawless skin on pictures ^^. You can also use an iPhone, which can take decent pictures as well. There are a lot of apps on the iPhone which you can use to edit your camwhore pictures. You can even remove your pimples or make your face look slimmer et cetera...I'm going to write about my favorite photography apps soon.
Tip 2: Your best angle
Try to find your best angle. Take a picture from the front, left and right and see what looks the best. Always raise your camera a bit high (but not too high), by this, you won't be able to see your double chin if you have one and your nose will look smaller. If you lift your head up and look towards the camera from a 3/4 angle you will look slimmer as well. Never take a picture from a low angle since it will make your face look big.
So yeah, I figured out that I look the best on pictures with a 3/4 angle.
Lighting is extremely important, NOBODY likes dark pictures! Make sure that there is sunlight from the left or right or you can even face the sunlight to get even better pictures. Just never take pictures with the lighting behind you because you will create a silhouette.
No flash please
I never prefer to use flash since the outcome will look very harsh.
Tip 4: Beware of the background
Make sure that your background looks good. E.g. Don't take a picture with a lot of messy clothing behind you.
Tip 5: Hold the camera as far as possible
Nobody likes close ups! You will look chubby when you take a close up of yourself, so make sure to hold the camera as far as possible.

ReplyDeletehaha...thanks for the tips, not lame at all!~my friend and I wer etrying to just take one picture together and we were both like 'how do we do it??!!' she ended up not liking the angle that much and of course it was hard to fit both fo us in the frame. She did know to find a reflective surface though so we could see what the picture would turn out like in the reflection. good idea! anyways great ideas and hopefully I can learn them haha...I fail completely, I hate it when photos dont look like what u see in the mirror. Also I LOVE your well lit and crisp photos!! true no one likes bad photography!

ReplyDeleteyess.. you can always put a mirror in front of you and snap the picture, so you will know how the picture will turn out and you will be sure that both of you will fit into the frame ;) practice more and you will get the hang of it :D! hahaha.. one day... we all will be better than xiaxue (do u know who that is? it's a well known singaporean blogger, who camwhores a lot and photoshop the pictures afterwards.. the pictures always turn out differently than how she really looks like. 10 times prettier lol.. )
